Character Building!
From Anonymous of Colorado Springs, Colorado on 6/18/2019 .
While reading this story aloud to our kiddos, I must have gasped in awe several times at David’s precious heart and longing to be used in whatever way the King desires. The lessons he learns are woven so beautifully into this story of a boy from whom some might not have expected much due to physical limitations. David’s journey to understand that a pure heart is what makes a person strong, is one every parent hopes will be reflected in their own children. Absolutely beautiful and character building!
Loved This Book
From Jack Snavely of Castle Rock, Colorado on 5/1/2019 .
It is amazing to me how great writers can give such a touching message in 88 large print small pages. Very touching. I am sure my boys will love this story too.
Great Book to Inspire True Heroes
From M Graham of Mesa, Arizona on 4/2/2017 .
Great book that inspires. Thanks for another great winner for my son (8). We used it as a read-aloud and my daughter enjoyed it just as much!!! But the message is great for boys and so much needed to speak to their hearts!!
Perseverence and Loyalty
From Heidi of Brisbane, Australia on 1/29/2017 .
If we could all learn to persevere when we do not feel strong and give loyalty when our circumstances change. Here is a story of one little boy, who felt frail and weak yet helped to teach others what it really means to be strong and faithful.
Character Building
From Anonymous of Tampa, Florida on 1/18/2015 .
My three boys and I enjoy this story about a boy who accepts affliction in his life. He lets God use it to humble him, bring him into a right relationship with Him, and for his growth in Christ. My boys identify with the character's thoughts about his sedentary situation, and so it's easy to rejoice with him as things begin to take a happier turn. We've read it a couple times and I can't help but tear up each time at the end. Some lessons learned: patience in studies, good penmanship, giving our best in all our work as unto the Lord, and concern for those around us.
Building Our Little Sir's Character
From The Rankin Family of Fort Worth, Texas on 7/20/2014 .
Once we started reading this story, it wasn't but a few days that our six year old son started to display the characteristics that we so admired in the book. All unprompted by us, we noticed things like: stopping what he was doing and helping his big sister up (who fell) to sharing the biggest piece of food with his other sister (BIG sacrifice for him). Who knew... books could provide subliminal character building. :) Thank you Lamplighter for your Book Club service.
A Decent Story
From DTCoughlin of Sabetha, Kansas on 5/21/2014 .
Good read. My son enjoyed the chapter picture and would always be excited to get to the page. I did not see much character development through this as much as Jessica's First Prayer. This is more of a: this happened, and then this, and then this twist resolves everything. The only exception is David, who learns a lot through "the sad thing". My son was repeating "my strength is as the strength of ten because my heart is pure" for a long time afterwards.
Highly Recommended

My 8 year old and I thoroughly enjoyed Little Sir Gallahad. It kept him interested which is a task. I highly recommend this book to anyone. Great story with reinforcing character qualities for your child.
Perfect Bedtime Reading
From Anonymous of Sabetha, Kansas on 5/19/2014 .
My husband reads a chapter of this book to our 3 year old daughter and 4 year old son as part of their nighttime routine. It is a privilege they love and hate to lose. My husband enjoys the stories right along with them!
