Moving Story
From Mowery of Cleveland, Tennessee on 4/17/2021 .
This book is small, but it is so deep and touching. It teaches true lessons and I really sympathized with Leonie. I loved her character and also the Colonel. I loved the story, even with the many struggles. This is a precious little book, even if it is sad at times. I hope to remember what it teaches as I get older.
One of My Favorites
From Kimberly Waltman of Greenback, Tennessee on 5/2/2020 .
Though it says that the Auther is Unknown the whole book is written out in biography form, it even says that it is a story about the person. At first, I didn't know if I would like the book since it is about a female and I am a man. but as I went along I was surprised! I am an adamant reader and have read many books this is one of my favorites now. I also read the book to my mom and brother, they loved it. this book is full of tragedy mixed with happiness. I read it in three evenings.
Light in the Darkness

It was an excellent read and I am still deliberating which granddaughter I shall bless with it. With our tumultuous times, it has very valuable lessons on overcoming tragedy in life.

This book was excellent! I couldn't put it down! It's great at pointing out the darkness of false religion and the true light that can only come from the gospel of Jesus Christ!

I have enjoyed many Lamplighter books, but two stand out above all that I have read so far, True to the Last and this one. Both captured my spirit and my heart deeply.

Thoroughly enjoyed Light in the Darkness. Made me feel the presence of God more in my life. Couldn't put it down. So appreciated the bravery shown. Would definitely recommend this book to the 12-99 age range. Thanks!

This is a truly enjoyable story. Couldn't put it down till it was finished and was disappointed when it was finished. At the end I searched for the author and discovered that the author was unknown. Unknown by man; but not by Christ. 1 Peter 3:15

We read this book as a family in three days. Our two older children ages nine and ten were glued to it. Beautiful story!
Good Encouragement

This story is a good reminder of God's sovereignty - in drawing His people to Himself, and in working all things for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Our heroine, Leonie, endures many hard trials in her life, but God's loving hand is seen working in all these things: revealing Himself to her and preparing her for her life's work. A good thing to remember in times of trouble.
