Giant Killer
From AA of ROYERSFORD, Pennsylvania on 9/11/2021 .
This book is a must read for all families. Every single person can benefit from this story. We have read this aloud and listened to the audio more than once. My boys are captivated by the story every time they listen. A gem of a book to build character and virtue! Highly recommend! My boys are now looking forward to reading The Battle.

The Giant Killer
From Anonymous of Centre Hall, Pennsylvania on 6/7/2020 .
The book "The Giant Killer" is a wonderful character building story for both the young Christian, and for more mature Christians who need gentle reminders and encouragement. The use of scripture truly gets the point across. We greatly enjoyed this book.
The Giant Killer
From Anonymous of Las Animas, Colorado on 4/28/2020 .
This is a lovely book through and through. The characters are completely true to life and believable. I especially appreciate the wisdom and compassion of the parents in this story as they guide their children through learning to relate to and set godly examples for difficult, long-term house guests. The love and kindness of Jesus shines brightly through the book, and I plan to wander often into its refreshing oasis of truth and hope.

This book was convicting in the best ways. I'm very grateful to own it, and looking forward to using it to teach my children. A. L. O. E. does it beautifully in this book. A wonderful book building Christian character that is fit to be read again and again.
Wonderful!
From Pauline POTTER of PORT CRANE, New York on 2/10/2019 .
I heard part of the story on the radio and was quite convicted with the lesson on selfishness. I thought I was ordering an audio of the book, but am very pleased with the hardback copy. I am a widow and my grandchildren live 900 miles away, so this lesson right now is just for me, but I know what their presents will be from now on, Lamplighter books and audios!
A Huge Hit!
From Britney Williams of Spencer, Tennessee on 7/31/2018 .
Like all Lamplighter books, The Giant Killer is stunning right out of the package. But, thankfully, the content is just as beautiful as the cover. All three of my older children (ages 7, 5, and 3) are enjoying it. It was given as a birthday gift for my seven year old, and was his favorite gift by far. It's been a huge encouragement to me, in my own walk with the Father.
Wonderful Allegory
From Amber Sill of PAYSON, Illinois on 7/9/2018 .
I had never read an allegory, or at least one like this. It has brought about much discussion in our family & helps us to put a name to each sin (Giant sloth, Giant selfishness). It is a more difficult read but my 6 & 8 yr old daughters are following & interested. My 4 yr old son isn't but I plan to read again to him as he is older. It inspires my mind & heart to read of the author (A.L.O.E.: A Lady of England) & how she gave all proceeds of her work to charity. What a ministry to write such amazing books all for reaching the hearts of others.
The Giant Killer
From Charles Parton of Hamilton, Ohio on 3/18/2018 .
The Giant Killer is excellent for its moral teaching. I suggest you read it with the entire family as it will have a great impact. My children of 11 and 5 have started mimicking the children of the book. Once you read it, you will understand!
Giant Killer

Gave this as a gift to 9 year old grand daughter. She loved it She said it was like a story within a story and had great lessons. She wanted to read the book before she listened to the audio. I give Lamplighters books & audio dramas every Christmas & Birthday. You always please the grandkids & their parents. Thank you!
Great Family Discussions
From Cassie Deputie of Saint Paul, Minnesota on 12/5/2017 .
Wow! This book opened up some amazing discussions with our 5 children as we read this every night as a family. We had 5 of their friends over (10 kids) for a week and they were all BEGGING for a chapter before bed. The analogies of the giants and our flesh nature are so creative and spot on! I am very excited that this is coming out as an audio drama and hope to add it to our library soon. This is a great read and we will be reading it over and over I'm sure.
Interesting and Enthusiatic
From Enoch Gilbert of Seneca Falls, New York on 1/7/2017 .
I enjoyed this book because of the interesting ideas about life. It showed how much we get caught in selfishness, pride, and hate. I have been trying to improve my behavior just as the boys in the story did. E (age 9)
The Giant Killer
From Anonymous of Buckhannon, West Virginia on 5/23/2016 .
It is one of the best allegories I have ever read...definitely for young and old alike. This will be one of our favorites to reread. There is much depth to ponder over and brings practical Christian living alive.
Powerful Allegory
From Gramma to 3 of Ackley, Iowa on 12/28/2015 .
I took this as a read-aloud for my 7 yr old grandson, who is very fascinated with knights and battles. I "skimmed" through some of the dialog and details to help keep his interest, and he loved it! He was easily making real life application (jumping up to defeat Giant Sloth when asked to do a chore:o) We got him his own copy so he can someday share it with his own little boy.
Fight the Good Fight...
From Daryle Mindeman of Watford City, North Dakota on 2/17/2015 .
Not to be deterred by the graphic name, I read this as my first Lamplighter book. I loved the biblical principles taught throughout the entire book. The characters portrayed by A.L.O.E. engage the mind and encourage a wide range of readers. Included are struggles faced by fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, siblings, friends, and the relationship between a Knight and his King. A fascinating allegorical tale suitable for all ages.
A Blessing...
From Jenean Layne of Sacramento, California on 2/18/2014 .
I purchased The Giant Killer for my grandchildren, but read it first. What a blessing! The book uses allegory to illustrate biblically the importance of character and repenting of sin. It clearly shows that we need to focus on the sin within ourselves and deal with that. We are not responsible for the sin in others' lives; God deals with each of us individually.
Great for Children that Struggle to Overcome
From Anonymous of Eagle River, Alaska on 2/12/2014 .
This Book is just the thing for anyone that has trouble overcoming things like selfishness, discontent, and ungratefulness. Each "Giant" is portrayed as a real giant and the conqueror tries to overcome each one. Sometimes it takes several tries but after working hard at it he is successful.
