A boy and his grandfather are trapped in their chalet. A fierce snowstorm has cut off all paths of rescue in the Jura Mountains, far north of the Alps. Jacques and his grandfather battle a blaze, escape an avalanche, and face a terrifying pack of hungry wolves. Based on a true story, Buried in the Snow will rivet and inspire you as these two courageous characters face the ultimate test—a test of their faith. When danger, doubt, and death surround them, will their faith survive? Or will it be buried in the snow?

Another Great One
From Jack Snavely of Castle Rock, Colorado on 1/20/2020 .
Buried In The Snow was based in a mountain region and is supposed to be a true account. This short book will have you turning pages to find out what happens next. Just like in life we have to trust that God is in control. Another great one from Lamplighter.
Come See How Light Pushes Back The Darkness
From Mole of Tolland, Connecticut on 2/1/2016 .
Honestly, the events of this book mattered little to me as I was gripped by the internal struggles both the grandfather and Jacques encountered. The setting was necessary with the crushing weight of cold snow trying to extinguish light and hope and perseverance. Thankfully, even a blizzard can't separate God's people from the love of Christ. The immobility brought on by their circumstances shows how important it is to have God's Word stored within us when a hard copy of the Scriptures is not readily available to us. I like the mentoring between the ages and youth. Jacques expending his energy in attempts to push back "cabin fever" but where the flesh was weak and despair sought to pounce, the grandfather was always there with his shield of faith to bring warmth and comfort where warmth and comfort naturally didn't belong. I'm glad the author didn't take the easy way out with his ending, but allowed the reader to see that God's Word accomplishes its purposes by showing Jacques grow and mature in the faith. This is a safe book to read with younger readers and especially to talk about when it comes to trusting God when he doesn't answer "urgent" prayers the way we want Him to.
Step Back in Time
From Heidi Rayward of Mount Crosby, Queensland, Australia on 9/3/2015 .
Remember a time where living was not centered around earning? Buried in the Snow, is a step back to simply enduring family life and embraces the trials of life with a compassion for each other that can be so sadly lacking in these modern times. This endearing and emotional trip to the snow capped mountains will surely touch those with a tender heart for the bonds of family.
Highly Recommended

This is the very first book I ordered. I was very pleasantly surprised at the wisdom and Scriptures God gave the grandfather for his grandson and how his grandson responded to it. I plan to give this book to my 10 year old grandson. Hoping he'll enjoy it as much as I did and that he'll be able to use some of this wisdom whenever life throws him a curve or two.
Character Builder
From Vicki of Chicago, Illinois on 1/9/2015 .
Excellent story which builds faith and character in the young boy/man. You could call it a "coming of age" story relating to the spiritual life. The suspense builds at the end of each chapter, and keeps you reading till the end!
